As of 1 March 2026, changed local tax regulations require guests to pay accommodation tax at updated rates. The tax is determined by the room rate and is charged per person, per night, as follows: 

【Accommodation tax through 28 February 2026】  
For room rates less than JPY 20,000: JPY 200   
For room rates from JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 500   
For room rates of JPY 50,000 or more: JPY 1,000  

【Accommodation tax from 1 March 2026, onwards】  
For room rates less than JPY 6,000: JPY 200   
For room rates from JPY 6,000 to less than JPY 20,000: JPY 400  
For room rates from JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 1,000   
For room rates from JPY 50,000 to less than JPY 100,000: JPY 4,000 
For room rates of JPY 100,000 or more: JPY 10,000   

For the purposes of the accommodation tax, the term “accommodation fee” will refer to the room-only rate, excluding any meal charges and consumption tax.  
Please settle the payment at the hotel upon check-in.
Children aged 6 and above must be booked as adults. Under 6 can stay free when sharing a bed with a parent. Accommodation tax may apply depending on the room rate and must be paid at the hotel. Extra charges for additional guests, including children, apply if extra beds or breakfast are requested.
Children under 6 years old can stay for free when sharing a bed with their parent(s). Guests aged 6 years and above are considered adults. Accommodation tax is applied depending on the rate (JPY200, JPY500 or JPY1,000 per person per night). Tax is added to the hotel bill and is payable by the guest.
■ Power Outage Due to Statutory Electrical Inspection on Tuesday, January 13, 2026
At DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station, there will be a complete power outage throughout the hotel from 12:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, due to the annual statutory inspection of electrical equipment in accordance with legal requirements.
Please note that direct phone lines to the hotel will be unavailable between 12:00 and 14:00.
Depending on the progress of the inspection, the power outage period may be slightly shortened or extended.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
According to local tax regulation, effective from October 1, 2018 guests should pay accommodation tax surcharge directly to the property upon check-in (per person per night):
Tax JPY 200 - for room rate of JPY 19,999 and under per night.
Tax JPY 500 - for room rate between JPY 20,000 and JPY 49,999 per night.
Tax JPY 1,000 - for room rate of JPY 50,000 and over per night.
Children under 6 years old can stay for free when sharing a bed with their parent(s). Guests aged 6 years and above are considered adults.
